The Anointing for Favor - part two
Three Types of Favor
There are qualities and actions that attracts God favor upon our lives.
Favor with God through righteousness
Favor with men
Unmerited favor
1. Favor with God through righteousness
What is righteousness? Acting in accord with divine or moral law. Free from guilt or sin.
A person conduct. Or living a life honoring God. To be in right standing with God.
🔥Righteousness is not a perfect life but rather a Holy life. A repentance life.🔥
2. Favor with Men
Favor with Men through deed, relationship, heart, work ethic, attitude, trust, character, good business, purpose.
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
Luke 2:52 KJV
Obedience brings favor.
Fulfillment brings favor.
Jesus had one thing on His mind and that’s to fulfill His assignment.
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
🔥The favor on your life should make you humble not arrogant.🔥
How can you be arrogant on something that’s not yours?
Without favor we would be: broke, no business, no connection, no relationship.
🔥I am what I am because of the favor of God.🔥
“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”
Obedience brings favor.
Fulfillment brings favor.
Favor will follow you to your destination.
Favor will set you up destiny
Psalms 37:23 The steps of a good man (righteous) are ordered by the Lord: and he delighted in his way.
“Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there. The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.”
The road of favor may look different or difficult at times but the Lord is the author, the architect
When you have favor, you don’t need to copy.
🔥I don’t need to copy you, i have favor on my life.🔥
“Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison, the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.”
“So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh. Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” “I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.”
Dungeon: dark underground prison. Cage,
Favor brings elevation
Favor brings you to the palace.
“I am not on the same road as you. I know we are from the same neighborhood, same school, but God is leading me. My trust is in him. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Favor makes you wise, discernment, understanding
“And now let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and put him in charge of the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh appoint commissioners over the land to take a fifth of the harvest of Egypt during the seven years of abundance. They should collect all the food of these good years that are coming and store up the grain under the authority of Pharaoh, to be kept in the cities for food. This food should be held in reserve for the country, to be used during the seven years of famine that will come upon Egypt, so that the country may not be ruined by the famine.” The plan seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his officials. So Pharaoh asked them, “Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?” Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.”
Favor can be seen.
“So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command, and people shouted before him, “Make way!” Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”
Trust the process
“Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.” His brothers said to him, “Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?” And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said. Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
“When Jacob learned that there was grain in Egypt, he said to his sons, “Why do you just keep looking at each other?” He continued, “I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.”
“Now Joseph was the governor of the land, the person who sold grain to all its people. So when Joseph’s brothers arrived, they bowed down to him with their faces to the ground.”
The pain of favor: Joseph wept
“Reuben replied, “Didn’t I tell you not to sin against the boy? But you wouldn’t listen! Now we must give an accounting for his blood.” They did not realize that Joseph could understand them, since he was using an interpreter. He turned away from them and began to weep, but then came back and spoke to them again. He had Simeon taken from them and bound before their eyes. Joseph gave orders to fill their bags with grain, to put each man’s silver back in his sack, and to give them provisions for their journey. After this was done for them,”
How do you keep favor over your life? Don’t treat them like they treat you
3. Unmerited favor Of God: Can’t earn it, underserved
(grace) mercy, kindness, and patience instead of judgment. The grace of God is the character of God. That’s who He is.
📒 Grace: a virtue coming from God. An act of kindness
📒 Mercy: compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it,is within one’s power to punish or harm.
📒 Kindness: generous, considerate, assists, concern for others expecting a return.
📒 Patience: the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset. The ability to Endure difficult circumstances. To persevere.
Because of our sins, we deserve punishment, judgment, but by the grace of God we are saved.
“And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.”
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.”
“He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,”
“For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.”
